🚨FIRE CALL🚨 Rubbish Fire 25/8/21 4:28pm Yesterday afternoon just before 4pm Fire and Rescue NSW received triple zero calls to a drum alight near the sporting complex in Wee Waa. Crews from 506 Wee Waa arrived to find a 44 gallon drum had been filled with rubbish and set alight against the north end of the building complex. Not only is it illegal to burn without a permit, but the stupidity of lighting a fire than leaving could pose further potential damage to the building or start a larger grass fire. To burn you must obtain a permit from the council and pay a fee than contact your local fire station to come and complete an inspection and issue a permit. Anyone burning illegally could face a fine and or imprisonment.
